Impact of rPET in Our Process
rPet
Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET) is the process by which previously recycled materials (often plastic water bottles, textiles, etc.) are collected, sorted, cleaned, and transformed into usable material. This new material can be used for packaging, apparel, and for making our beloved plush products.
We believe in using a framework that measures our success based on People, Planet, and Profit or commonly known as Triple Bottom Line. For this reason, we have embraced the utilization of recyclable materials versus virgin materials. While rPET isn’t the cheapest option, we feel it is the most responsible way to make quality toys for children that last.

Since starting in 2001, The Bear Factory has been committed to providing only the highest safety standards in our products, adhering to the strict testing of children’s products in both the United States and the European Union.
We have additionally taken a strict stance against Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). We feel it is our duty to remove these “forever chemicals” from our operation and have made a commitment to be PFAS-free across our product line by 2026.
