Trade Relations and Tariff Status Update

The only thing more bothersome than the series finale of Game of Thrones is the impeding worry of tariffs and how it can impact your business. With current political relationships between the US and China being what they are and weekly, if not daily, developments in the media always inflaming the situation. It can be very difficult to fully differentiate what is happening and what it means for forecasting your business operations.
We at The Bear Factory have been keeping a close eye on all of this as a 10% or 25% tariff is a substantial cost when it comes to tight margins and providing our products at the wholesale level we do. It has always been our goal to help support you, our customer, in any way shape or form. We do our absolute best to cover you whenever we can.
It is with that mindset that we don’t have much to currently share on the landscape of the US-China tariff situation except for two things.
- Plush toys have yet to be named to the tariff list.
- We are proceeding with a “business as usual” mentality and encourage you to do the same.
Instead of getting worked up over President Trump’s latest tweet or breaking a sweat after reading a CNN trade war forecast, we’ve chosen to pay enough attention as needed that allows us to continue to do what we do best. Manufacture, distribute, and support our customers with the highest quality products.
Focusing your energy and attention on information and forces that you cannot control will only leave you frustrated and take your eye off what matters most, your business. Should there be a shift in information and the current status of the tariffs changes we will be sure to post and send out appropriate correspondences to update you. We have an action plan in place should this occur and will lay that out should it become necessary.
However, from all of us here at The Bear Factory, we are looking forward to continuing to support you as we always do today, tomorrow, and every day moving forward.
